Hi Brad,

Would be really interested to hear how you go, and what the service is like.

If I can, I might try and get back out to the spot I dug this one and see if I can get a couple of decent pieces to send off to make the most of the P&P charges.

There is also a Lapidary society open day here in Penrith this weekend, so will try and go along and see the folks there.

Regards,
Rob

Hi Rob

I sent some gems away to Lamberts the other day, it is my first time sending them so I can't answer your question.

The "Aussie Lapidary Forum" has some information on gems cut by Lamberts. They sound reliable, but members say you get what you pay for. Apparently they don't polish the stones as well as they would in Australia, but the average observer wouldn't notice.

I will let you know in a month or so how I got on.

Cheers

Brad

Lambert Industries - gemstone cutting. Thoughts?
« Result #4 on Nov 11, 2009, 10:01am »

I have a nice sapphire that I'd like to get cut, and see in GG&T there is an ad for Lambert Industries, in Thailand. Anyone any experience?

They say no minimum order qty, which is handy. Has anyone used them? How was the process from sending off to receiving the finished stone?

Regards,
Rob

I have pasted the link for the pic. I have more pictures on my camera, but I'm having trouble with the software used for transferring the pics onto the PC.

This pic is from a mobile phone, so the pic isn't the best.

Welcome Squizzy,
I have been over that way a coupla times but for prospecting, just visiting the outlaws. Did a bit of beach detecting around Port Hedland and didn't do too bad either.
Anyway, cheers and HH

G'day Gibbo,
Sounds like you had some fun having a bit of a scratch around.
I had the same question a few days back about the photo side of things.
Go to our home page and you'll see how to post photos.
Open an account with photo bucket, which is free and add a few photos. To attach a photo to a post have photo bucket open and AGP open at the same time. Click on the photo and click on mpeg or jpeg, then right click, copy and then paste into the post where the photo needs to go.
Hope this will help
