Hi all I have started to build a highbanker but its more like a power sluice similar to a boiler box. have a 2.5hp 4stroke pump on its way to power it with 1.5 inch outlets. I'll be using expanded mesh but may put a rifle or 2 in not sure have ribbed mat and nomad matting for under the mesh. still have a little folding, grizzly to weld and 40mm plumbing to get but its a start.

G'day Don't rush into 40mm plumbing I use a 2.5hp pump and find that 25mm pipe with 2mm jets is more than enough. I have jets on 4 sides and only have to run my pump at about 1/3 throttle to get the flow I need. My 1ltr tank only needs 2 or 3 fills for a days work (on a less than 50mtr run). Start with less than you need and drill more/ expand the hole size that works for you Cheers Chimpy

Thanks chimpy will try the 25mm plumbing with 2mm jets first, are you using 2 rows offset or just the one row for the jets.

just a question for someone in the know what is the best spacing for grizzly bars. i have 6mm stainless rod was going to space at 6mm or is that to small and should be looking at 10mm spacing.

thanks goldrocs now I will have to find an 8mm spacer and hope you can weld stainless steel to mild steel with mild rods.

was going to bend them in a u shape and weld to a bit of angle iron and bolt the whole lot to the top box. so when you lift the lid the grizzly comes out as well.

ok another update got the grizzly finished (and yes mild steel rods will weld stainless rod to mild steel) and have got the plumbing work sorted just have to drill holes in the 25mm spray bars and glue the whole lot up and cable tie it on. have to sort out bottom half of the water run with larger expanded mesh and maybe a rifle or 2 not sure yet.

Looks very well made and i like the design. My only worry would be it seem a little low, do you have a stand or legs for it? May get a bit of a sore back otherwise. Ill be very interested to hear how it runs and to see some results

Looks awesome! Nice work
One question - where did you source the expanded metal?
