Hello i have a gold dredge and was wondering what the laws are on using it in nsw and qld. Are they legal to use anywhere these days. Thanks Dylan.

"Dredging" is a dirty word here as it is definitely outlawed in Victoria, as for the other states it will certainly pay you to make inquiries in your state, as far as I know it is outlawed right around Australia but I could be wrong. Cheers CJ

G'day Bounty Hunter, Mate, be very careful, Dredging is illegal all over Oz. Best thing to do is convert the dredge into a high banker. As long as you manual shovel dirt into your HB you should be right no worries. Gotta do the right thing now, big time, so we don't give the pollies any ammo to shut down our hobby all over our so called free country of ours. The greens just need the right excuse and it's all over. Brad...

Yeah thats what i thought but wasn't sure. It's my old mans dredge it hasen't been used for over 20 years. I have used the pump to drain a pool and still works fine but noisy. He said they went illegal in nsw just after he brought it lol. Havent yet got a banjo with a pump but think i would be buying a nice quite honda or somthing, too many people up this way came from the city get angry pretty quick.

I loved dredging, but rules are rules. Riverminer, i'm with you about the Greenies, Bast#@ds are going to take our freedom away from us eventually. We will see after the floods the devastation to the creeks will be, a million times more than a dredge could do. Lets do the right thing so we hang on to our little bit of sanity. Now go and get some GOLD. ;D ;D Brad...

I want too know what these greenies do for fun must live a boring life. ;D I'll take a guess....Sit in the dark rocking backwards and forwards in the fetal position thinking up ways to lie and force people to lead a miserable meaningless existance the same as them.

As far as i am concerned Armchair Lieutenants run this country and our rights are diminished more and more. just how many jobs will be lost and how many businesses will shut down and how many bush towns will become ghost towns if the greens get their way I for one will be swinging a detector or shovel legal or otherwise. lets hope good sense and sanity will prevail Cheers and Happy Golding CJ

Time to rise up lads. Tis total Bull@%#t. My sons are always asking when are we going to head bush. With city people buying up the old farms and limiting access to prospect and to battle the political crap that some drug induced hippy has put in place, it time it's gotta stop. The problem is when it happens, half of the population of gold diggers will not stand and fight. We do more good than bad, as we pick up after ourselves, only leaving a circle of rocks where the camp fire was, that it. I could go on, Sorry about the rant Lad's and Lasses. Letrs go and get some gold. Brad..

I have spent more time on occasions picking up the rubbish left behind by the city green voter than I have concentrating my finds. There attitude of lock up/PROHIBITION shows a complete disrespect to the value of our natural environment. They ( the greenies ) fail to understand that the bush is a use it or LOSE IT scenario. If we can not go bush and pursue our hobbies in legitimate way we will not care what happens to there little piece of eden. I for one are more than willing to stand under a southern cross and pledge my devotion to the natural values of this great nation. The benefits it brings to myself and my kids(the next generation) can not be measured financially, socially or in CARBON TERMS. The greatest thing and by far the most valueable thing my family and I take from from the bush is the love of it and how if you don't respect its terms it will punish you. Thats my little rant Cheers Daza
