It is a sad state of affairs but alas the sport of prospecting is being reserved for all those big companies who will line the pockets of the political parties. Being from sa where it has always been this way there is two public fossicking areas in this state and the rest of it is virtually a no go zone due to it all being private property unless you are a company like bhp or santos who just show up on land un announced to drill which i have come across and here is the little panner/detector without even the chance of expressing interest to access a gold field on private property. asking nicely is all you can do here and it is always a no so if you want to prospect here in sa you are tecnicaly allowed to but are you really? Is this the way we want the rest of oz to be.

Im signer #836. The big mining corporations tried this on in W.A. about 10 years ago, we defeated them then. But this one needs to be fought hard because governments nowdays are suceptable to money and backhanders from corporations. So unless theres a lot of noise being made to bring it to peoples attention, theyll take it. The news networks are corporate and dont employ investigative reporters or report on these things anymore so its up to us!
