I have just returned from my favorite detecting play ground after a few hours of peace and quiet at Enfield, and I'm getting more frustrated every time I go because of the inconsiderate disrespectful self centered lazy people who don't back fill there holes. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?? With all the attention we are getting from government departments of late, why endanger our favorite pass time. Please think of your selves if not anyone else, and fill them back up because if you don't we may be refused access to all the parks. Disappointed Stoyve.

Hi stoyve, I have to agree with you that there are some selfish people out there that won't fill in their holes but I have noticed that the message is slowly getting through as it is not as common as it was a few years ago. Having said that, it only takes one idiot to not fill in their holes in one area and the whole area looks like a minefield. But we must still encourage (no demand) that people fill in their holes every time or our hobby may be a thing of the past. Rowdy

Hi stoyve, sorry mate, I thought I will leave the holes there for you so you didn,t have to dig so far. Just joking, I agree, but you are attacking a little too harsh there mate, if every member of forums just put in a reminder every now and again on all forum sites, the message should get through, attacking them like you have may make them leave more holes just to stick it up you, who knows how they think.

Gday Stinkypete, You are most probably right with your comments, and I should not have been so aggressive in my thread. Next time I'm frustrated about this subject matter, I shall wait for a day or so before I submit a reminder as you suggested. After reading my post again I agree it is over the top. Thanks for pressing my reset button mate. Cheers from the still frustrated but corrected Stoyve.

Hi Stoyve, The way I read your post was that your more passionate and caring about your little patch of bush, than on the attack. You could have been stronger with comments and it would make no difference to the people who don't care to what is left behind, there dad should have taught them the ways of the bush. It is good there is the Stinkypete's to reset our buttons as well, I tend to go boots first, and there right as well, I don't detect but see the holes, and from your post next time I see one I will use my boot and fill it in, rather than spit. Cheers from the better educated Lab.

Gday Labrador, I fully agree with all but one of your comments, it's not just my patch as you mentioned as I have only been detecting for 2 months. I have been coming to the area for 2 years and have been filling up other people's hole during all that time. I acknowledge I went overboard and I am embarrassed about that, but at least people have noticed the issue once again. Thanks again for your input. Cheers Stoyve.

Lol, no worries stoyve, hey I was at Heathcote yesterday, I found a great spot off Robothams trk, somebody has littered around at least a 60 sq. Mt area, made detecting impossible, why would they do that, it is obviously targeted at the prospector.

Gday Stinkypete, Maybe greenies are on the attack again, Back in the 90s I lived in Northwest Tassie and they used too spike trees with nails so that the loggers would damage their chainsaws. There are some real crazy people out there sometimes. Cheers Stoyve.

Yep your right on that one mate, In the nineties a big percentage were from Queensland and when the roaring 40s and snow came in the winter, they would go home in bus loads. So much for commitment, Heh, Heh, Heh, The hard core mob would live up in the tree tops in suspended sleeping bags etc... Now that I could respect. Regards Steve

Good comments. I agree with all of them. Our forum members are better educated and know that rubbish and holes are not on. I say its tourists. Caught a woman throwing a Kimbie to the side of the road when I lived in Braidwood then someone on Macca said he" would like to meet the lady who had the baby suffering with diarrhoea from Sydney to Newcastle". Just grots. I wonder what their homes look like? donny

Gday everyone, I must say that last week when l was in Enfield at one of my playgrounds, I was very disappointed to see that some pig of a person has thrown about a dozen 20 litre containers of some unknown waste down a mineshaft/tunnel system that I have abseiled into. This system has significant timberwork in it and is a wonderful example of construction techniques used in the early 1850s. If I catch anyone in the act of such vandalism, I will take down there rego and call the police. I'm so fed up with selfish and ignorant people. Not cheers Stoyve

Hey there Kenny, I've just got back from a couple of days in the playground, and looked in the shaft with the dumped 20 litre toxic waste containers . I'm arranging a couple of mates of mine to do a clean up, which will mean I will be abseiling down their and using a block and tackle to pull them out. I will be wearing safety gear of course, and when I'm finished I might call the dse to let them know they were dumped by the track so they can remove it. Cheers Steve
