Hi guys, I was at Heathcote today I was detecting in a little area off Robothoms trk, somebody not long ago I guess has littered roughly a 60 square mt area with 25mm clouts, I done a compass run nth, sth, east and west, the nails were sending my detector crazy, and me. Why would anybody do that, it was a good area, now it is wrecked, the nails are so close together, you cannot pinpoint one. Very angry Len

"Why?" because there bloody idiots thats why. They may be greens that don't like to see detectors in their forest so they throw nails and lead around to deter us from going into that area. They do more damage that what we do. nugget893

Hi Stinkypete, You might have to make yourself a magnetic rake using strong magnets. They will pick up the surface ferris metal but unfortunately not much good for nonferris metals. Rowdy

Pissed me off, I do have a 6" x 1" x 1" rare rare earth magnet I bought for my sluice, I mite put it on the end of a rake like you suggested, once clean I hope I find something more than lead, damm the greans, this hobby is supposed to be relaxing and enjoyable, when I detect junk, I dig it and bring it home to dispose of it, I am cleaning the bush up and they go and litter it, it don't make sense, I think we are more greenies than them. Thanks for input guys

not Greene's they wouldn't do anything that would hurt the wild life. more than likely to be the three prospecting clowns that get around that area. last time I saw them they almost killed me drifting their vehicle around the tracks. they dig a lot of holes but they don't seem to find much they probably decided that if they couldn't find any, no-one can theres a lot of oxygen thieves around these days
