hey everyone I found this stone in the omeo district and was wondering if anyone could tell me if this is a Herkimer Diamond? this photo doesn't do it justice! its clear and very shiny, but also has the shape of a natural diamond

Not 100% what you are asking. "Herkimer Diamonds" is the name given to the doubly terminated quartz crystals found in Herkimer County, New York and surrounding areas. Not sure if the name would still apply over here. Not sure if it is double terminated as it seems to step down as it goes back. A side on or looking down shot would help. If you are asking if it is a diamond, the easiest way to test it would be to do a few scratch tests to check its hardness as diamonds can scratch anything (glass,steel,sapphire/ruby/conundrum)and can't be scratched themselves.

G'day goldierocks good to see you here. I believe the photo may have been externally hosted and the user has deleted it, so it will not appear anymore.
