Hi Guys & Gals
This year again we are having the Laanecooriue Gold Bash. This will be it's 4th year and in those 4 years we have raised over $16,000 for charity. Last year alone we raised over $11,000 for the Peter McCallum Cancer Reseach. So this year they are again our charity of choose, as everyone, either directly or in directly get affected by cancer.
The Laanecoorie Gold Bash is the only try of venue of it's type dealing towards, prospecting, training, teaching and fund raising for charity in Australia.
Now about the Bash it's self.
The Laanecoorie Gold Bash 2014
This event has now been running for 3 years. It started in May 2011 with a few hobby prospectors from a Gold Prospecting Forum getting together at the Laanecoorie Caravan Park with the intention of sharing their enjoyment of prospecting, to pass on their knowledge and to help newcomers into this great hobby of ours. At the same time they were responsible for organizing sponsors in the trade to donate a few items so they could raffle them off with the proceeds going to charity.
The word got around how good the 2011 and 2012 Gold Bash was and that last year’s 2013 was even a greater success than the previous years it attracted over 150 prospectors from not just Victoria but from most states of Australia for the 3 day event.
With many more activities last year than previous years, designed for novice and long-time prospectors alike, made for an enjoyable weekend. We also raised last year over $11,000 for the Peter Mac.Callum Cancer Research Foundation. Making a total over the 3 years of more than $16,000 for charity through donations, raffles and actions.
None of this would have been possible if it was not for the great numbers turning up for those wonderful sponsors coming on board with their donated items, which included metal detectors, coils, WA Gold Adventure Tours, gifts voucher, wines, and much, much more.
We are holding “The Laanecoorie Gold Bash” again this year. It will be held on the 10th. 11th. & 12th. October at the Laaecoorie Lake Side Caravan Park. The organizers expect this year will be even bigger and better than last year with all the proceeds again going to the Peter Mac.Callum Cancer Research Foundation.
PMAV members are more than welcome to come along and enjoy a great weekend with fellow prospectors and their families and to help raise money for a worthy course.
