Came home 2 days early from my disappointing trip to Eldorado & only about a couple of grams to show for it. My back injury started playing up on the drive up there & only got worse as the days went on. First week I was teaching a mate from town, who followed me up, how to pan because he wants to learn. The creek was running too high to put a sluice in where we were because of heavy rain earlier in the week. Since last Thursday after Tony came home, I have done stuff all digging as my back was screaming out in pain with every shovel load of gravel I took out of the creek, even though I had my back brace on. Water was still too high yesterday to put the sluice in to continue digging out my hole from Easter, then it rained heavily nearly all last night. Creek has come up again, I was still in pain this morning, so I decided to come home. Hopefully I'll have better luck next time I go up.

No good mate, still, better to let your back recover. Theres always next trip and hopefully the rain will have moved the wash around and dropped enough to get at it.

That's not good Andy. Take care of yourself. The gold will always wait until you are well.
Rest up, take it easy and plan for a better trip.

Still not 100%. Going to see my doctor tomorrow to see what he can suggest, because the medication I'm on now to ease the pain from both my back & knee injuries is just not working.

Sorry to hear you had to cut your trip short Andy Did stop by on the way out today to see how you went and wish you a safe trip home but missed you. Darn rain did make it a bit harder and I reckon last night put it up another couple of inches. Had a mate stop by home today in a top mood. Suffers bad back pain and 2 days ago got an Epdiural from his Doc. and has been pain free. Not sure what sort of back pain infliction he has - but certainly an interesting treatment. Wonder how long it would last tho... Take care Andy and hope to see you again soon.

@ mushmouse. Sounds interesting, but I don't like the potential of some of the side affects it has. Especially the one of not being able to feel when your bladder is full & having to wear a catheter.
@ phillip. Ok. I'd been at the caravan park in Eldorado & was moving back out into the bush to camp.

ooer yeah - they can keep that Looking at the radar today, Beechworth copped a huge downpour in the purple range & more rain this week- so plenty more of that yellow stuff will be topping up.

Sorry to hear that you had to cut short your holiday mate. But bet to suffer at home than out in the bush were you can not get any comfort. As what everyone else is saying "the gold will still be there when you get back". Take it easy Andy and I hope you are back on your feet again soon without much pain. nugget893
