Looking good Chris t Its a bit hard to make out in the photo but do the top section of the riffles sit flat or do they have a slight upward bend? Generally anything close to what you have there or what Joe shows in his photo should be fine The ones I have made (and I think an old bloke gave me the advice) have a slight angle upwards. Only slight like 5 or 6 deg. I have been using some Aluminium off cut(used to stand off wall cladding) that are shaped like a "W" and I can cut them so I have the bottom, the riser and the top section "Z" shape all sort of in the right configuration. I just modify them slightly with a persuader. If I need to curve the surface I use a piece of round bar or heavy pipe. See attached Pic

Hi Chris, The angle upwards I was talking about was the top of the riffle where the water runs over. The little rise up helps the low pressure zone work more effectively.
I cut along the top edge either side of the centre "U" or "V" which gives me two "Z" shaped riffle pieces and a "U" shaped piece left over. I am experimenting with drop zones along a different type of sluice tray using these offcuts
The carpet tiles in my photo have nothiong to do with my sluices. They just happen to be sitting there lol
Cheers Ric
