I wish there was mate, but I don't know of any. I only live a bit over an hour from Bendigo, & just outside the north western edge of the golden triangle so would welcome such a thing. There's the Bendigo Prospecting Club but they are all about detecting. The biggest problem around the triangle for highbanking is lack of water. It can have a very good dump of rain, then the next day all the water that fell is gone again except for a few small puddles.

That's why I try and go to slaty creek and even if there is no club it would be a great place to catch up with all that have a highbanker one day so come on the rain maybe just post a date and see who turns up

Not a bad idea, I would be in on that, Eldorado is the place to go, plenty of room and plenty of colour, slaty creek also, iff it has water.

Most rivers have height gauges and they automatically send out reports to the BOM.or some other .gov.au places. Small creeks don't seem to have internet information. We need to support this fouroum and the people who use it, as they are the ones that go to these places and freely give advice and information. I went to Waanyarra near Dunolly the other day, and it is as dry as a DDD,and I have a friend camped there for a while, talked to him Wednesday he said they had a shower of rain and there was some puddles in the creek. So don't take a HB there. I was going to go to Creswick, rang a friend who has no interest in fosicking, I asked if there was any water, they said they did not know, they most likely cross it every day, but have no interest.

chris t, I still think your on to some thing, maybe high banking is not for every one, but one thing we all have in common is the need for information, Is there room for the administrator to add a spot, like the jokes and maps etc. but for Information In The Field. I hope it is not already been done, and I haven't seen it. So if there was a dedicated spot to put information and ask questions, might be as good as a HB Club. Back a few post I said I went to Waanyarra March 20 there bouts and the creeks were dry, I should have added more info like the crazy little man that seems to live there, who thinks he is a ranger, but is not. Two things that are not on the internet, but handy to know. From you I know Slaty creek is still dry, thanks for that. Lab

Hi Andy do you think it could be possibly to start one up maybe meet some were central for all that has highbankers just a idea. .? Sorry Chris, I missed this post. Sounds good in theory, I'll see what I can come up with. Hasn't worked out too well the past 2 years posting group trips to Eldorado where no one or only one other has shown up. I'll have a think tonight.

In the first post on hear there is 5 good ideas, People with HBs, meet up, Talk to each other, prospect together and around Bendigo.
Nugget893 has a Laanecoorie gold bash every year, I think that is near Bendigo, and the people going there would be connected to the hobby in all, and new ways to get gold. Nugget893 has info on the forum, back a few months, If we all rocked up there, it is a camping weekend, got together, there would be nothing about gold and spots to dig, that we would not find out about, and it may make Nugget893 happy as well. As Andy said a bout not showing up, the Laanecoorie event is all ready established and very popular, so if one of us was missing, no one would notice. That ticks 4 of the boxes. Prospecting together, may come latter, after meeting up some where. I am getting heavy rain, and it has rain all night, if it moves over your way, Slaty creek might have water by the week end. I am still a supporter of your idea. Lab
