Does anyone know of a manufacturer or retailer of cradles? Thinking of something light and easily carried. There are some great little sluices around in lightweight materials, but for summer use on the goldfields a cradle would be ideal.

I actually built a small one a while ago, and it seemed to me to be a bit of a gap in the market. There's a couple available from american suppliers though, including one that comes with carry box that you can mount it on and use as a water reservoir.

a sheet of aluminium, tin snips, and a pocket of pop rivets is what you want. Flying Scott.

Ahah, knew I had the link somewhere, www.goldcradle.com/21stcentury.html . Don't know if they ship to Aus though. Pricewise you're probably better off building one, but they've got some good ideas you can draw inspiration from. I found the little one I built needed about a 1 in 8 inch slope to work reasonably well if you do decide to build.

Look for Palmer River and rocking cradle at Google Search. Lightweight etc. As the Flying Scott said;aluminium, rivets and tin-snips. Cradles are excellent to recover gold. Donny
