Hi all.
First trip out into the wilderness in my own truck for almost a year. Went out to Oallen on Saturday, met up with Shivan and Mark and had a good dig. Access to the normal digging ground out there has been roped off, all sign posted as "Construction Site" "strictly no access". That didn't seem to bother a couple people that simply drove through the red and white tape. Lucky for them that on both occasions the ranger that was lurking around didn't spot them. We all ended up digging on the upstream side of the ford and the results weren't too bad. There was a surprisingly large amount of people fossicking out there, a lot of them were Prospecting Australia members, mostly wandering around with pans. Think Shivan and I were the only AGP members. I'll put some photo's as soon as I have finished cleaning up the concentrate.

Was great to finally get out again Bit of a shame about access, with construction of the bridge going on. All that dirt getting moved and not processed Only managed just over 0.2g, but for only being out 1/2 a day and putting little effort into digging, I was happy. The major problem of the day was our pump not starting But thanks to Jeff we had water Good luck with the cleanup Jeff.

Good to see you guys out and at it again. Does anybody know if we will have access to the gravel bar down stream of the bridge when it is completed. I have a bad feeling they might lock us out.

At least you got some colour. Sounds like Oallen is a bit like Pitt St at times.
It will be interesting to see if the new bridge effects the flow and deposition downstream once its finished. I might come back that way after Easter and have a look-see. Been a long time for me between visits to the Ford.

This was from Oallen 2 Saturdays ago, still haven't quite finished the clean-up. Haven't even weighed it yet but guessing at around 1.2g, maybe another 0.1 left to clean-up. Didn't actually spend much time setting up the new rifles, too many people around asking questions. But they seem to work as well as the modified ones. Jeff

Jeff, that is worth waiting a year for, is there a new bridge or some thing being built, it might shake some thing lose. You may start a gold rush, when you post the total weight. Very good to see Lab
