Am seeking advice. My new banker will be 1.6 aluminium and the top classifier will be sending down a maximum of 8-10mm gravels along a 800 x 240 mm bare tray before dropping into the sluice tray. Will continuous use scratch and pit the surface? I have some thin stainless steel sheeting. Should I line the base with it or will the aluminium be hardy enough? Thanks in advance.

That should be okay and you shouldn't need to add stainless steel sheeting, aluminium is pretty hardy unless you're going to throw boulders on it.

Built my High-banker over 20 years ago out of aluminium, base, slick plate, hopper etc (Hungarian riffles are steel). I still use the same one today and it still gets the gold. It really looks 20 years older now though...just like me....lol.
Ally is good and light. You can lug it to places where others don't go.
