Just after some thoughts on flow rates per cm width for a sluice used for washing minus 6mm. I realise it depends on so many things but just looking for a starting point. Riffles will be 5mm high mesh and bread crate modified.

Hi mate, Go with what works for you. But for me its all about alot of water and fast. I run a 48 inch by 10inch highbanker with a 4 degree drop from end to end at around 600l/ min. It works for me. The biggest thing i try to stop is surges of water through the sluice and make sure its always getting the same flow everytime. Thoery being it stop lights settling when theres not enough flow and when the rush of water goes back through it picks everything up and out the end, constint flow bloody hard to get right. Good luck mate with the project.
