First go cabbing and a few tumbled stones

Recently joined the Illawarra lapidary club and had my first attempt at cabbing. These are not finished and have only just been shaped, or are still in the process of shaping.







These were my latest tumbled rocks, mostly petrified wood and jasper. Polish came up nicely, but there was a bit of damage that occurred during polish. Photos do not really do them much justice though.

Nice stones mate.

You are going to need a bigger shed soon to keep them all in.

Shed would be the smart way to do things.... My computer room almost looks like a gravel bar with rocks piled up all over the floor.
One day I will reclaim my garage and figure out a way to store my collection.

Very nice collection there Shivan. Nice to see them polished up like that to enhance the detailing. I often find samples like this and wonder how they will look with a bit of work. Thanks for the good photos.

Made it back to the club today to finish shaping and polish my rocks. They are not perfect, but I was happy for my first attempt.
The flats need to be finished off but I may be able to do that at home.
