I been trying to cut large rocks on a trim saw for quite a while now and realized it just won't work so I had to buy something that will do the job as I knew the trim saw just can't cut it I've invested in this 18" slab saw off eBay it was at the right price
I haven't run it yet so I'm not sure if the bearings are ok but there's very little rust on the blade so used recently tap on wood the bearings are ok cheers all Harry

Looks like a beast Harry. You should have some fun with that.
From the photos iam guessing its weight fed? If so does it look like there is a stop? This will stop the vice being ripped into the back wall when the slab is cut. The chain setup is great for cutting agates, geodes and round stones but you will probably also want a bit of flat bar or wood for the more square rocks and a few different size wooden wedges and masonite strips will help with irregular shapes.
Looking forward to seeing you get it up and running.

Second piece looks like it may be fossiliferous limestone, if so will probably be a bit softer than normal. Always nice to get some goodies with your purchase
