Hi Guy's well I am pretty embarressed about the amount of gold I found at Nundle doesn't even warrant a photo as I don't have a macro zoom. However I had a great time up there & met two other blokes from Newcastle enjoying the Nundle countryside & hoping for some colour. I think I tried to cover too many options, I didn't concentrate on one area to understand or find where the gold might be,also because you can't use a pump for the Banjo carrying buckets to the water then just panning is slow hard work. I did have a few fleeting moments when I thought I might be getting on to some colour how ever my lack of experience shows (ya just cant replace time in the field.) It was great fun anyway & I spent some time with Graham from Maitland one day panning & on thurs day with Jeff from merewether both good blokes & keen to look at this site.I panned I river sluiced & I detected for very little but the experience was invalueble.Lesley at the c'van park was very helpful with info & maps showing designated fossicking areas & discussed some of the issues of those new rules. The Pub hospitality & food were great had a good time with the locals in the bar on state of origin night too.I could prattle on as I had a good tour of Nundle & Hanging rock but I will try to post some pic's & share some more.
Down but not beaten !

It's not the amount of gold you find......it's the amount of fun you have trying to find it! Finding gold is just a bonus.
Don't tell W/E but I have also had times when I have found very little - but I enjoyed the Aussie bush all the same.
Keep Diggin
