Thanks From: Banjo520 Sent: 9/06/2008 5:52 PM Mate I have used a bit of chain wire mesh and a hand winch now for years and it works very well. The mesh wraps around the rock very nice indeed. James From: KiwiJW2 Sent: 9/06/2008 6:51 PM G'day Hotrock, I have used an old set of snow chains ( that fit on car tyers for traction in snow) & D shackles & other lengths of chain to make a rock net. Some times you can get away with moving a rock by just using a wire rope chocker that tightens up like a lasso. If this slips off then with D shackles & lengths of chain make a three way noose & problem should be solved. JW
From: Banjo520 Sent: 9/06/2008 7:31 PM Another trick JW is this. If the bolder is rather round you can make a loop around the rock attach the end of the wire rope back on it’s self then run a few loops around the rock as you pull the rope this spins the rock breaking the suction and out it pops. James From: KiwiJW2 Sent: 9/06/2008 9:07 PM Hotrock, Check out the pics I put up under Banjo's thread on What have you been up to over the long weekend. Bit of rock winching there. JW
