Apologies to Franma and KD. I was obviously in the middle of writing a response to the other guys when you two replied and I didn't see what you'd written until now. Yes, Franma, it is Heathcote, Vic. Although, I don't think it is part of the golden triangle but don't quote me on that. You're welcome to come out and have a shot, KD as is everyone else. The Heathcote gold rush only lasted 6 months (and they mainly stuck to McIvor Creek - my creek is Wild Duck Creek) so, I think they left plenty behind. I had a great day too, qazfun.. you're welcome back anytime.

I don't need much notice, Adam. I went down there yesterday for about 5 or so hours with a member from here (qazfun). We had a pretty good day.. both got a little bit of gold. Wasn't much but, I was only panning and qazfun was using a mini highbanker. I'm struggling to get my sluice working the way I want it to. Going to try to get right throughout the week. What sort of gear do you have, Adam? If you have a 4x4, you'll be able to drive down to the creek. If not, it's not a fun walk with lots of gear (it's not far but the hill is horrible to walk up and down). I've got a Subaru Forester but technically its the Mrs car, and last time I took it out I nearly ripped the front bumper off , so it'd depend on how rough the going was whether I'd take the car!! I use an Angus MacKirk AU Trap and can backpack most of it so walking a couple hundred meters generally isn't a huge problem. I'll keep you posted anyway. I was hoping to get out somewhere this weekend so if I can make it I'll let you know. There's a few places I've been wanting to check out for a while now but its bloody hard finding the time to squeeze them all in. Sent you a PM Cheers Adam

This is the gold I've been getting (minus the nugget - that came from the one eye area) from the creek that runs through my property. Majority of it is from one crevice. The rest I got from underneath a large rock. I just finished building 2 sluice boxes and will be testing them out this afternoon. If anyone would like to join me in the hunt for gold in said creek, drop me a line.
