This one is from our early day law makers.
What was made illegal during the day time in 1838 and remained law until it was repealed in 1902?

It was illegal to swim in the surf during daylight hours before 1902. In September 1902 at Manly Beach, William Gocher openly defied the law and entered the water at midday. Despite being arrested, no charges were laid. From then on, the sport of 'surf bathing' quickly grew.

Very good Mushmouse. Yes, from 1838 until 1902 it was illegal to swim at a public beach in the day time. How dumb is that.

Yes - and imagine those hot dry Australian summers with the men in suits and women in big dresses and bonnets...sweltering away... Ok, my question is - In August of 1984 in the racing industry, a famous scandal involving hair dye and a dodgy white paint job was applied to a bay gelding ring-in to replace which horse?

Not as easy as it looks to think of a question but Which Queensland city was known as Elston until about 1933?

I know the answer but it would be nice if someone else that hasn't had a go try and answer this one. It is not a hard question. nugget893
