Advice please been hitting this little creek in my area, and im new to all this gold stuff, but, im finding heaps of like metal flakes, silver in colour, and also like a bronze flakes, can anyone tell what they are?? please

From your description I would guess that the flakes are most probably mica. Rowdy

I think what Rowdy said is correct, it sounds like Mica. When you stir up the water do they swirl around or start floating or lifting up for the bottom ?? If so it's Mica nugget893

When you see a speck of gold in the pan, it will hit you in the face. You will know that is what it is. Mica is very light. Pyrtites is heavy but a lot lighter than gold. Also, if you crush it under a lens, it goes to a black powder. Gold just sits there. Really grips the pan or the heavy sands.

Try and rub or bend the flakes with your fingers. Mica is like little books and when rubbed will come apart in sheets. The silvery one may be biotite and the bronze muscovite. As the others said they should float and swirl in the pan very easy.
