Hey, I'm new to prospecting, just wondering what people's advice about using a 12v 900amp jumper pack to power a 12v water pump that I got with my blue bowl kit?

Hi Dale1234, Welcome to the forum, I assume you want to use the jump starter pack to power the pump to run the blue bowl. As these are only small pumps it should be ok. Most of these jump packs only use a 18Ah battery so it may not last long before it runs flat. Rowdy

Thanks rowdy. Any suggestions on what I should get to run the pump then? I don't want to spend too much more on a battery.

Hi Dale1234.
I use a jump starter to run both my blue bowl and a miller table pumps. Never had a problem, runs for about 8 hours before starting to run down. Although it would be a much cheaper option to buy a motorbike or marine battery and a small charging unit than a good jump starter. My one cost around $600 a few years ago and I only use it because I have it.

I too use a jump starter to run my blue bowl and cleanup sluice. I have not had a chance to try my new jump starter out yet, but my older one did seem to have a tendency to fluctuate slightly. In the cleanup sluice this was not a problem, but it the blue bowl it ment keeping a good eye on the water level at all times.

Does it matter how many amps it puts out? I think mine is 600/900 amps. Can't remember now Also the pump I have is a Johnson pump 750gph 12v with 3 amp fuse

Hi Dale. Guess the only way to find out how well it works for you is to give it a thorough work out. Think you will find that it will do exactly what you want. You already have it, so use it, don't spend money that's not necessary. Happy blue bowling. Jeff
