The Martin Marks sluices are all green fiberglass and you will see what they look like in the old G.G & T mags under the adds "Martin Marks Sluices"

Sorry to hear about this Bushgold. It's gotten pretty sad when you can't even leave your gear near your camp out in the bush. I know fisho's around here are so sick of replacing smashed windows in their cars on the foreshore when they take their boat out - they just take their valuables and leave windows down because it's that prevalent - its not a matter of 'if' but 'when'. Will keep an eye out down here in the N.E. Maybe some unsuspecting prospector buys it second hand. Couldn't see a fellow fossicker knocking off gear - just a lowdown thief chasing a quick dollar as they would be too lazy to actually use it.

Will keep my eye open. Haven't seen a Martin Marks sluice around for about 3 years and like Ric said, they are easy to recognize. But that's a low act. Times are changing. I had a couple of bits of gear stolen 20 years ago, caught the culprit, it was a Water Rat. Looks like the Rats now have 2 legs. Take care everyone. Jeff

Yes it's pretty bad I've been going there for about 10 years and always left it beside the river.........but then again you don't know what assholes or scum have moved in to the area since last time I was there looking for a quick buck.......... I hope it was not a fellow fossicker as how would they like it if thay every thing taken from them................I hear you about the fishos.......some scum bags around thanks bushgold

Sorry to hear about your gear being stolen bushgold. It's a real mongrel act. I quite often think about who might be around when I'm away from camp, detecting. At least I'm usually close enough to hear the car alarm go off if someone breaks into the wagon. Plus I have a couple of surprises around the camp that I won't divulge here, if you get my meaning.

Back in the day the old timers in the gold fields used to fire off a rifle or pistol 🔫 from time to time during the night to stop the night thieves from digging there claims under candle light and if anyone approached there camp without saying there name and letting them know , they had the right to shoot them , no questions asked !!! Hence why you find a lot of old timers muskets etc in gold fields , sorry to hear about your gear mate
