gday just got back from reedy creek its a pretty long creek with the young fella fairly good camp set up and had a couple ask if they could have a go there i said yeah then they bring there highbanker and stuff right down near mine then 30 minutes later a old bloke turns up with his gear and joins them and another half hour passes and another car with reletives turns up i should have got a sausage sizzles going my first outing in months and first with young bloke and ya gotta put up with such rudeness i know its everybodys creek but wheres some courtesy im totally disgusted i should of said bugger off to start with its a long creek with plenty of spots

Yes some people can make themselves more than welcome sometimes. There used to be a bloke at Oallen who used to regularly come up to your spot and he would start panning right in the hole you were digging. He just couldn't seem to take a hint and had to be told a little bit more firmly about what your thoughts were on his practice. Rowdy

Just plain rudeness. Never had it happen to me personally. A bloke I used to bump into told me if anyone rocks in like that he uses the line...........Ahh yeah I just decided to stop quickly and see if there was any colour here. I did OK down around the bend there yesterday tho and off they would go

When I lived in the caravan along Reedy Creek in the early 2000's, people would come in on long weekends, Xmas & Easter etc & camp where I was. Didn't worry me much as they weren't usually prospectors. Since I've been living where I do now & camping regularly for the last 10 years in the golden triangle I haven't had anyone come in & want to camp at the spot I'm in. I think the mentality is different in detecting areas compared to panning/sluicing ones.
