I bought on line a new skid plate for my nugget finder and some tape from a well known detector supplier here in Victoria.
the tape I got was rubbish.
it was meant to be a 3M product but what I got was plain old Nitto insulation tape that just peels off and to top it off was twice the price of what Nitto tape usually costs, just to rub some salt in
does anyone know what type of 3M tape is used on nugget finder coils?
want to get something that sticks well and good

I bought a roll of Tenacious Tape about 6 years ago from Coiltek in Marybourough. It's about 19mm wide and it lasts pretty well and I still have a fair bit on the roll. I don't know if it's still available but I'm happy with it's performance as I tend to scrub the coils and move leaf litter with my coil. Rowdy

I believe any of the cloth backed/reinforced tape is great for coils. Holds well and lasts with scrubbing. Most of the detector shops sell them, but you can get them from mitre10 or bunnings.
