Gday everyone... I found this forum just last week. The more I read, the more I like it. Everyone seems to be good, honest & friendly people that have caught the same disease I have.....GOLD! My dad got me hooked when I was young. After a period away from the hobby, I've found a renewed interest that I just can't shake. I've been panning for a couple of years (when I can find some water). Recently purchased a GP3000 detector & have just started constructing my first sluice (high banker)..... I'm hooked!
Cheers, Andy

Welcome to the site, I don't know how much info there is specifically about SA but there is a huge cache of knowledge on how to find the yellow stuff.
P.S It's called Gold Addiction Disorder, GAD for short

Thanks Nugget893 & Carlo... GAD, makes sense, and yes, there seems to be a wealth of knowladge displayed amoung the threads... Lets see, gold in SA??? It's here, but it's probably the last place one would come to hunt for it. Not a great deal of good detecting land, but you can usualy get some colour in the pan with a little research.
Cheers guys, Andy

Thanks Ric. I'll take a look a look at the Yahoo information pages. I can use all the help that I can get... That book on ebay (Goldfields of South Australia), is a worth a read by anyone thinking of prospecting SA. I have it and it has put me on some colour around the Adelaide hills. It's a look at the history of gold in SA. It tells where, when & how much gold was recoverd in each area. A good read for any gold hunter...

We don't have much on S.A unfortunately. I have a book put out by S.A dept of minerals many years ago. I can scan information on your areas of interest and send them on if you like.
I will see what I can find over the next few days.
Cheers Ric.

Hi Ric... Thank you, that is very good of you... If you happen to come across any info on the Mount Lofty Rangers (southern or central), Onkaparinga Valley or Kuitpo Forest, that would be great. I know these areas have been worked in the past with some good gold found... But don't go out of your way on my behalf. Perhaps you or anyone else may be able to suggest some good sources of information on these areas, books, sites, records etc. That would be a great help and much appreciated.
Cheers, Andy
