Hey all,
I have been sifting through old threads and like what I see. I am a beginner with only gold panning stuff so far. I used to have a Garrett gold stinger detector which I used at Jupiter Creek, Echunga, for a long time and never had any gold there. I lost interest and sold it, now I wish I hadn't as I have been bitten by the bug again!
I found a few tiny, tiny, specs of gold in my pan the other day in clay at Echunga. They were so tiny, almost silt particle size, well, they were dwarfed by a grain of sand by 10 or 20 times. But it was gold and gave me some encouragement.
I plan on making sluice box and giving it a go at Mt Crawford forest while their is still lots of water about, then hopefully by the time it dries out I will be able to afford another detector.
cheers

G'day mate and welcome to the nut house were you could not meet a better bunch of in-mates on a web site. You were saying that you have been bitten by the bug again. No, the bug was just dormant for a while, and is called G.A.D. (Gold Addiction Disorder) You were saying that you had a Garrett Gold Stinger detector. Great little machine of it's day, has found many a nugget. We have now a few members from S.A. so you should team up with some of them for a day trip. Bring it up on the forum to see if any of them are interested.
Cheers and welcome again Nugget893
