If you want to make your message look a bit fancy, it is easy to do. This only applies when you click on "Reply" at the top or bottom of a post. Replying in the "Quick Reply" box does not have these tag functions.
How do you get the coloured text? Click on the "Color" icon at the left of the tags.
The colour boxes will show the default setting as shown below. Click "OK" if you want the text this colour. If you change your mind click "Cancel" & the colour box will vanish so your text will be in the default "Black".
If you wish to change the text to a different blue, click on the shade you want. When happy, click "OK" if you want the text this colour.
If you want the text to be a totally different colour, select it from the vertical strip to the right of the main colour box. Then select the shade as explained above.
When you click "OK", the font code will appear in the message box, & the cursor will be flashing between the brackets. You can now start typing your message.
You can also apply a different colour to part of the text after you have already typed it. Just left click and select the text you want to change colour, then choose the different colour from the colors drop down box. This also applies to using the BOLD, Italics and underline tags etc.
You can also combine tags for bigger impact.
TIP: When combining tags it is a good idea to Preview your message before posting it. If you make a mistake, it is easy to rectify before posting.
Here is a good tip for posting long website addresses!
Again, the end brackets will be moved to show the tag.
Click on the tag in the bottom row that looks like a globe (3rd symbol from left). It says "Insert Hyperlink" if the mouse pointer is hovered over it.
You see this...
Place an equal sign (=) between the end of url and the closing bracket of the first set. B is the closing bracket of the first tag. Then paste the long web address after the = sign. Now, type a short description of what the link goes to AFTER the closing bracket of the first tag. Leave the tag C intact as is.
Like this...but do not leave any spaces.
The end result will be this link. Handy Maps
