OK, I just did a bit of a search and YES Daylight Savings Does start this weekend 2am 5th October, in ALL participating states
From the Aus govt website; "Daylight Saving
Daylight Saving Time is observed in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania, and the Australian Capital Territory and has been synchronised across these states. Western Australia began a three year trial of daylight saving on 3 December 2006. Queensland and the Northern Territory do not observe daylight saving.
Across the south-eastern states and the ACT, daylight saving for future summers begins at 2am Eastern Standard Time on the first Sunday in October and ends at 2am Eastern Standard Time (3am summer time) on the first Sunday in April.
For Western Australia, daylight saving in 2008 will begin at 2am Western Standard Time on the last Sunday in October and end at 2am Western Standard Time (3am summer time) on the last Sunday in March 2009."

Hi everybody,
The news on the radio said that some mobile phone systems will be confused as they are programmed for the original start date for Daylight Saving. If you manually set them to the new time they will try and synchronise with the network.
This is not all mobile phone systems, only some.
This will be FUN !!
regards
Darylr

I guess me being a Queenslander will have to reply to "cockroaches" and "Mexicans" re daylight saving. We may be 10 years and 1 hour behind, but the way things are down in the rsend of the country, what with the crime, drugs etc, I'm glad we are behind, but we are getting almost as bad up here. I guess that is because of the number of "Mexicans" etc moving up north. (I'm learning to speak Spanish) Even the cockroaches are on the move up to here, to learn to play rugby league I guess. ;D And to learn to swim for gold in the olympics We are from the "smart state" so they say, but we're not as smart as we should be. We should have built the rabbit fence higher and stronger, to keep the foreigners out in winter when they move north to thaw out. Ho Ho Ho. But I don't really mind if you all come up here. It's just that we should have someone at the border to welcome you to Australia. ;D lol
