Finally completed my Miller table. I had a bucket of concentrate from Eldorado that I used for testing. I set it up as a recycle unit and placed a pan under the discharge. Turned the water on and found the pump I had wasn't delivering enough water to cover the entire width of the table. Changed the pump to 500 gallon per hour pond pump which seemed to be good. Started the table off at 10 degree angle and watched everything shoot off the end into the pan. Dropped the angle to 5 degrees and that was much better, the black sand dissapeared and left a nice trail of fine gold. I thought the angle was still a bit steep because there was some very fine gold close to the end of the table. I lowered the angle to about 2 and a half degrees and proceeded to empty the contents of the pan once again. This time ALL the gold was no more than half way down the table. I tested the waste material and found only one very small speck. A success I thought. It took about 20 minutes to process all the concentrate (about 2kg) and left behind was only gold, NOT a sinlge speck of black sand. I am off to Oallen next weekend to collect a bucket of concentrate. I would like to take the big highbanker but it isn't quite ready for testing so the little one will have to do. Post some pics of the table as soon as I take some. Jeff

If it catches all of the fine Eldorado gold then then it should easily get all of the Oallen gold as it is slightly bigger without the extremely fine black sand that Eldorado has. Love to see some pics of it too. Rowdy

Hi, that table sounds great. Would it separate gold from clay or would the clay be to sticky? Is there a better way?
Cheers chook

Hi Chook. It would be absolutely useless for separating the gold from clay. You would have to completely break the clay down before running it over the table. I have had reasonably good success with in breaking clay down by using a an electric drill and a paint stirrer. Put the clay in a bucket, half fill it with water and stir until there are no lumps of clay, just a thick slurry. If you run that slurry over the table it will separate the gold easily. Jeff
