Jamie You're probably looking at about $300 to $400 for Customs fees on top of that $1540. Then there's freight from the US, & for something this size & weight you'd be looking at well over $100. It says 90 LBS shipping weight & I know for a fact that weight is not cheap to ship over to here. I pay about $25 for only a few lbs of gemstone beads when I buy them from the US.
If you want to buy a sluice, the Miners Den Prospectors Choice 2 Tier Sluice is a good choice. I've used one of these extensively in the past & found they work well.
You can run it with a 1 inch petrol pump instead of using the 12 volt bilge pump that they also sell, & spraybars can be easily fitted to the top if you want to.www.minersden.com.au/default.asp?pageid=Products&template=PRODUCTCAT&catid=724&prodid=1775&site=15

just to throw my 2 cents in (btw back in town after an unexpected trip back to the USA..back now for 12months so am up for any trips around Sofala/Hills End area) I placed an order whilst at the Keene Eng HQ in CA a week or so ago, unfortunately the items were not available for immediate pick up so i had to have them shipped. The weight was 60+ pounds and shipping was $145 for priority 6-7 days....im not aware of any customs fees....as of yet! Ill let you know if i happen to get some extra charges when it enters the country but i dont believe that would be the case...but i have been wrong in the past!

Hi Carms.
I got my large highbanker from the States, customs duties and freight came as a big shock. The machine weighs 69kg. Customs duties only applies when the cost of the article is over $1000AU. My machine was $1550US. The total EXTRA cost to me including delivery to Canberra was $890.00. If you know the seller in the States, ask them to ship it in 2 parcels with the value of each under $1000.

G'day Try shipito.com they are a mail forwarding mob I just used to get some highbanker parts sent here from the US. They charge USD$8.50 per parcel and have a massive discount on freight. I was qouted $300 for freight by Fedex but shipito.com got a price of $147 from them ;D
Cheers
