Always a favorite and always done in the camp oven Dumplings 1 1/4 cups self raising flour, pinch of salt, 1 oz of butter, 1/3 cup of sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, 1/3 cup of milk Sauce 1 oz of butter, 1 1/2 cups of brown sugar firmly packed, pinch of salt, 1 1/2 cups of water Dumplings: Sift flour and salt into basin rub in butter add sugar. Ad combined Milk and Vanilla. Mix well Sauce: Combine all ingredients in large saucepan, stir constantly until boiling, reduce heat. Drop tablespoons of dumpling dough into simmering sauce, cover and simmer for 20 odd minutes. Serve warm with cream/ ice cream/ yogurt etc. Very tasty
