Some members have asked me to post pictures of my modified Bazooka Goldtrap. I have been trialling the setup at home and I'm quite pleased with it. I still need to do some tweaking but overall it works quite well. I can break it all down and take it to the goldfields in the back of my Suzuki Vitara. I just use a 7 metre x 1.5" suction with a foot valve and drop it in a dam near the workings. Robert The stand is just 20x20x1.6mm steel tube and the pipework is 25mm PVC with an inline ball valve. The fall is 25mm per 300mm but this is one area I need to tweak. The holes are all 5mm and run down the top and both sides. There is a plug at the bottom for flushing the pipes. The three lower pipes are attached to the 20mm pipes that extend out the back of the trap box by means of boots made of pipe lagging from Clark Rubber. These are necessary to help the fluidised bed principle to work correctly. You can just see the rubber boots at the end of the pipes. This is the flow I get when the pump is just above idle. The first barrel retains the wash while overflowing just water to the pump feed barrel. Showing the flow thru the barrels This is the Genquip pump. It's a 2.5hp 4-stroke motor capable of 12,000 litres/hr. It hold one litre of unleaded and will run for ages at just above idle.

Hey nice bit of enginering. Out of curiosity ?? have you tried running the concentrates through a sluice then into the first bucket, ? you will eliminate a process that needs to be done, a long narrow sluice should be perfect. Though, nice going Robert, close to the money now eh

That looks great! I been looking at these sluices online a bit of late...
My 2cents worth,
I'd bung a perforated gate in at the end of the hopper before the wash goes into the trap part.
That would give you a better chance to make sure any clay is broken up.
Put the gate in, shovel pay dirt in, give it a bit of a stir with your hand/glove, then lift the gate & let her rip. Bung the gate back in & do it all again.

Not a bad idea Agman. I'll look into it.
Thanks
