G'day all, we had been looking at getting a smaller pump for a backup and for those places where the 5.5hp is too inconvienient. Since the 5.5 decided to play up and is in for servicing we decided we needed a backup pump asap Since we went for a cheap brand on the bigger pump Mark decided he wanted to get a honda as the backup he ended up getting the WX15. Even though he got a deal on the pump it was still expensive (compared to the chinese pumps) but i think it will be worth every penny. We took it out on saterday for a test run, to a spot we had been to previously but had not come back to due to the trouble of getting the pump out at the end of the day Did have a few teething problems with the pump but these were quickly overcome all in all a great day. Not much gold only about 0.1g but we dug out an area we had previously dug to see what sort of replenishment was there, next time virgin ground [youtubehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDy5UHF7HSQ][/youtube]

Ian you are getting heaps of water flow with that pump, but i would change the spray bar to a single pipe water flow ,you will get less airation in your bottom box Single pipe in top box...

Congrats on the pump...I'm also thinking about getting a new pump (a Honda wx10). I've just had too many problems with chinese pump that I'd previously bought. Athough I've probably created half of the problems myself from running the pump for several hours with the choke on full. What do you guys think of the wx10, is it going to be sufficient to run a small highbanker???

That's great little pump Ian. Honda engines and pumps can't be beaten. My Honda is now over 30yo, still starts first pull. Will last you many years of faithful service.

got the same pump Shiv, came with the HB - great pump, I found that it must sit straight as the oil level can affect the operation.
With GoldHog mats I had to have it full throttle, never tried longer that 6metres with outlet and 2m height but should handle ok according the spec.
Good videos,,

Thanks for the comments, glad to hear we are onto a winner this time. GR you are right i think, though a few more tests are in order, i would like to try a few more holes first but if i cant get it right then will switch to an open pipe.
Jo we were only running 5 meters of hose but found about half throttle seemed to work well, we started off with less than that but it was not keeping the mat active enough.
curtislowe we were looking at the wx10 as well i think it would be fine for what you have and will pump about 30 meters.

Just another few clips from the weekend we were out on the ford again and despite having the 5.5hp pump serviced we were still getting allmost no pressure from it so we decided to try the WX15 despite having 60m of hose out.
