Im all about light weight and compact camping. have used hammocks for a while and now have this one in my back pack Its easy to set up and very comfy. the fly is good and it can be used with or with out. The bug mesh is attached. Its very roomy, 3 meters long, im 190cm so I have lots of leg and head room. can even get gear in if I want to or need. and it packs nice and small. Just give me my pan and im off to scout locations ;D to get what others dont, you got ot go where other wont Cheers HH

HH,
I love the hammock. Of course I'd have to Baygon the ropes to stop the ants and bugs from climbing in.
Did you buy it in Australia - and if so, where.
Cheers Mrs Fly

Hi Mrs Fly I got the hammock here in sydney. its sold at the outdoor shops down kent st in sydney cbd. This is the bliss hammock but there are some others on the market and its starting to catch on now. Back in canada there is a brand called Hennesy Hammocks and they are fantastic and been marketed well to the "leave no trace camper" you dont need to clear a tent spot just two strong trees. I love it . I like the leave no trace as some times im where I should not be haha so any trace of me is bad . But I love the light weight and simplicity of it. In 70 liter trekking pack I can get all gear for a long stay in the bush. The problem is water in Aus, but in canada its plentiful and you dont have to worry about carrying in all your water. 1liter is a kilo so it adds up quickly Cheers HH

Gotta get me ones of those. Would be good on fishing trips as well. So on these "no trace" trips - where do you leave the car? Cheers Mrs Fly

I'd never have thought about a hammock like these ones... I like it! - no poles etc. to carry around... We've got a couple of ordinairy hammocks, a tent, swags etc, but I like this idea of being off the ground... Even in a tent or swag, if it rains hard enough or water channels under or allong the base, water usually gets in somewhere & you get wet... A larger tarp/fly might be good over the top of the hammock if bag space isn't an issue. I'm going to look into this some more

Great post and setup hitchhiking. I am moving back to QLD in a couple of weeks and have been looking for a comfy hammock for a few weeks to relax in while up the beach fishing or bush prospecting while reading my newly acquired gold books. I was surprised to see the range and got side tracked onto some great videos on utube of Wilderness Survival hammocks etc. I have always had a swag and still use it from time to time but I think if I had thought of these many years ago I would have been a hammock person way less bulky Because of my hatred of the fishing, drinking, prospecting time taken to "set up " ,I own a troopy to park and sleep and a 30 second oz-tent for longer trips ;D...hammocks

Fantastic set up.
I have recently been researching at a lighter option to lugging the old swag around for walk in and out trips. Like some of the other posts this option hasn't really come to my attention.
How is the hammock on the back?
