Bombay crossing was dredged pretty heavily. Oallen is good for the flood gold. Oallen's' the go for those just starting out. Lots of friendly advise on most weekends.

Howdy Nick, I'm a newbie myself , thought I'd say g'day, seems we are neighbours.. I also live in Canberra. The Shoalhaven at the Warri bridge is a good spot close to Canberra, I've found some nice bits of gold in crevices on the rocky banks on the Canberra side of the bridge. You can pan or use your sluice, there should be enough flow there. Just find some nice deep crevices and dig every spec of dirt out and into a container and start panning. The other side of the bridge is ok too, but its quite popular and I think it gets hit on more than the other side. There are other better spots on the Shoalhaven further down but thats where I started and always went home with some specks. If you get hungry out there your not too far from Braidwood. Great place for yummy chuncky steak pies and wood fired pizza! Cheers and good luck!
