Hi guys/gals, my name is James, currently living/working in Canberra. Originally from Emerald, Victoria. I'm a newbie of sorts to fossicking and I absolutely love it. I really enjoy venturing into the scrub, panning in some picturesque creek or investigating an old mining area in the hope of fining an old coin or even a nugget! I usually focus on the Braidwood area, mainly because the homemade pies in the town are fantastic! After a hard day baking in the sun, stuffing up my back panning, the prospect of a yummy beef and red wine pie and a coldie makes it all worthwhile. My current arsenal comprises of a Minelab 705 gold pack, a Turbopan and a sieve. I've learnt that research is the key and its starting to pay off; gotta love google! Thats about all folks. Have a happy and safe Xmas. Cheers Jimmyboy

Good on ya James. Welcome to the forum. We have quite a lot of members from Canberra so there should be no problems meeting up with someone to have a dig or a swing with.
Quite a few of us get across to Oallen regularly. No nuggets there but plenty of fine gold and lots of junk for the detector ;D
Cheers Ric
