The following poem was used in a great old Aussie movie called.
" Smiley gets a gun".
If you haven't seen it, I encourage you to get a copy.
The dogs once had a meeting, They came from near and far. Some, they came by railway train and some by motorcar. Before into the meeting hall, They were allowed to look, They had to hang their backsides on the wall, upon a hook.
They only just got seated, every mother son and sire, When a dirty little yellow dog, decided to holler, FIRE, While rushing out the door, they didn't stop to look, They just grabbed the nearest backside, from off the nearest hook,
And that is why to this very day, while walking down the street, A dog will stop and swap a smell with every dog he meets, And also why a dog will forsake a juicy bone, To smell another's backside, to see if it's his own.
