Hi guys, my name is Mick, I have been reading this forum now for a couple of weeks out of a new interest in the old gold hunting game, and I have found it to be a terrific resource of info. Since I have recently moved from North Qld back to Vic where the fields are a lot more accessible for weekend trips. I am keen to get out there and start with the basics and find somewhere to do some gold panning/sluicing around the Trenthem to Dunnoly areas, done a couple of scouting trips but have not found anywhere yet Half the fun is looking anyway, Right?. But any advice would be more than welcome. Also a quick note for the admins, I am a web developer by trade, so if you need any questions answered or problems solved about the maintenance of this forum or the scary online world PM me anytime, be glad to help. Keep hunting guys...

Use google earth to locate bush dams for water. Most will at the bottom end of surfacing which will give you a nice place to get panning material.

Thanks for the tip Aussie, I'll look into it.
Henns: I move around a bit, but when I am in Vic I consider home base Sunbury...lol Having a location is a good thing, anyone wanting to go hunting in the area can give me a PM, and if I can I will join in on the adventure.
Cheers Guys,
