Hi all my name is Amon and I'm a carpenter in Sydney although i wish i was a gold prospector every time i come home from a weekend away I'm 32, married with 3 kids but don't hold that against me live in castle hill very keen camper and get away any time i can and only need half a reason so it's snowboarding down at guthega in the winter and fossicking in Hill End in the summer
I'm not the most experienced fossicker out there ,just got back from my 6th trip around the hill end area over 3 year period
first trip found nothing 2nd found 3 specks with a pan and has been getting better each time i go I've been using a river sluice (rubber mat from bunnings) in the turon and digging a hole in the river bed last three times .been better then panning but is a lot of hard work biggest piece is about 4mm x 2mm flake and lots of little specks enough to fill 2mm in the bottom of my 20mm vial might start down the crevice trail and see what happens
anyway will let you all know when I'm going next and maybe some keen noobs can come and teach me something and always looking for a new spot too been reading about tunea but am yet to do any recon on the area Cheers Amon

G'day Amon
Welcome mate. The Turon's a good place to learn and a great place to camp. There's plenty of helpful info on this site and plenty of people happy to answer silly questions.
Cheers
Chimpy

Hey amonster, stones throw away from you at Kellyville. Haven't done much prospecting still learning the ropes so to speak. The only place I have prospected is trunkey and tuena.
