I have received a letter from the National Parks Office which is coordinating the review of the Crookwelll Reser4ves Plan of Management. The letter advises that the closing date for submissions has been extended to 25th of March -- so if you have not yet put one in you now have the chance! If you have any interest in prospecting in this area, NOW is the time to have your say. NPWS did not say why they have extended the deadline. However given that some of the submissions were critical of the short notice for submissions, I guess they have extended it to allow any other interested people to also put in submissions. I think they would be genuinely surprised by the number and quality of private submissions, and that by the NSW & ACT Prospectors and Fossickers Association. I hope it is also a sign they are taking the matter seriously and not just rubber stamping a decision they have already made! I suppose we have to trust that they have integrity in these deliberations and will give all sides a fair and balanced hearing. Time will tell. My previous post has lots of details, and also how to lodge a submission: alluvialgprospectors.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=5796Get onto it and make your voice heard! suggest you look at the maps. Some of them do cover Tuena Creek but not near the town where people suilce. But if you want to go elsewhere then yes you may be affected. I am not an expert on this area. If you know it yourself, then form a view and put in a submission to defend the area even if you personally may never go there. We are looking at defending for future generations, not just us.
