I am from taree nsw and am interested in doing some prospecting with my mate for a break from every day boring life.. Even if we find nothing it is great to be out and about in the bush where it is nice and quiet... This site has some great info and I will be watching with great interest from somewhere out there in the rat race we call life ;D.....

There is a differance .. True nuggets are golden... The other type turns white in the sun and is a huge problem if you step on it.... ;D

Cafery flat on the Manning is our next venture.. It is a very large wash with bedrock visible between two small mountains ... The Manning mine was 30 ks down stream and the cells mines 30 ks up stream.. I have been there before but have not done any sampling yet... We are going to be out of plain view down in that wash and should be left alone by the locals... I have seen a post on this site about khappinghat creek... We can access the smaller stream that feeds into the larger part of the creek...And once again we will be out of plain sight.. There was a lot of gold mined in the beach sands near saltwater and it may still be found today in black sands if we can find any......

Had a look around the beach end of saltwater today and found a lot of black sand in places.. We ran some of this thru an old piece of guttering 10 ft long with some ribbed mating in it fed by the garden hose.. And found no gold.. Next week we will go to the back creek for a look.. There is a maize of fire trails that will get us very close to the back creek..I have never been into this forrest before and cant wait...The lowtech house gutter has separated several small specks from some material from the Copeland area and I know if there is anything in our local samples we will see it....
