Was in need of a new chainsaw, so I looked at what was on offer at Bunnings & other places.
What I ended up buying was the Ozito 12" (305mm) bar, chainsaw. For $99 & a 1 year warranty you can't really go wrong. It's light, small enough to stow behind the front seat in the vehicle & does a good job for what it is.
It's no giant powerhouse at only 25.4cc, but it is perfect for cutting up the sort of wood you need for a campfire, and in my case, the wood heater at home. This wood I cut yesterday took less than 15 minutes & I took my time. Could have taken maybe 5 minutes off that time if I was in a hurry for it.
I have some other Ozito power tools & it's good gear. Going by how long I've had the others, this should easily last a fair while.www.bunnings.com.au/products_product_ozito-petrol-chainsaw-254cc-305mm-pcs305_P3380608.aspx?filter=categoryname--Chainsaws

not bad, but mitre 10 has a ross chainsaw $98.00 and it has a 16 inch bar and a 38cc engine.

Probably going to be in more strife posting this. I have never and never will take a chain saw, or a generator into the bush. I have a great little bow saw and a couple of spare blades. Flying Scott

Probably going to be in more strife posting this. Nah, not from me. I agree, generators are a scourge in the bush, especially at night. Thankfully I haven't heard one for a long time.
As for a chainsaw, I find a small one much easier to use than a bow saw (I have 2 of those, big one & small) due to a serious lower spine injury I suffered in the '80's. When I say "easier", I'm meaning the less time it takes me to cut the wood, the less excruciatingly painful my old injury gets.

not bad, but mitre 10 has a ross chainsaw $98.00 and it has a 16 inch bar and a 38cc engine. My main purpose for buying this one was because of the size. I know the Ross are a good chainsaw, but a lot bigger physically than what I wanted.
Thought of doing this comparison this morning to show you. The 1st photo shows the comparative size of the Ozito to my Elci 53cc with 20 inch bar.
The 2nd photo shows I can't do this with the Elci, or a Ross, or any other chainsaw that I know of. Unless it's the same size as the Ozito. This photo was taken of the foot well behind the front passenger seat. The light grey carpet to the right of my pick is the transmission tunnel.
