Welcome to the group Wally63
A pan, a sieve and some digging and scratching tools are all you need to get back into it. Plenty to read here with over 5 years of posts to read back thru.

Thanks rick have got some things I need to know I have a mining licence I got for life in WA is it good hear in QLD and can you tell if there places near ipswich or close by

The WA licence is only valid in WA. Also I think you will need a separate licence for QLD issued by QLD. VIC miners right are only valid in Victoria as well. NSW you can get some licences for fosicking in state parks but national parks are off limits. The rest of NSW I don't believe you need any specific licence but there are lots of areas that are off limits due to local council laws etc. For other staes and territories you would need to check with the relevent authoriities.
