Hi Guys, I recently bought a river sluice and have been testing out flow rates, angles and mat configurations at Yarramundi. Yarramundi is close to home and over the school holidays kids have built weirs to create swimming holes that I took advantage of. Eventually I settled on V-mat. I like to see the colours catching in the top of the sluice as i change spots. The first trip was to Dog Rocks State forest with a mate. Due to the recent rain the Campbell River was in full flow. While there were plenty of sluicing spots there was limited areas to dig. Eventually I settled on a fresh Gravel dump and ran 15 20Lt buckets for 2 colours. The next trip was a solos effort to the Fish River. I found some likely holes in bedrock and ran about 20 buckets for about half a gram of flake. While it has been a lot of half work it is satisfying to prove some of my theories and get away for the weekend. Photos to follow when I figure that bit out.

Hello, Experimenting with new equipment is always fun, Although I just high- bank and detect finding the right happy medium is a challenge. I have contested my theories proved wrong and right I still have trouble. My local spot is all pickers I have never come across a flake as of yet or even dust, and completely changed my set up to be the best it could have never found gold past my first riffle, how evre last weekend I traveled a little further for weekend away i was told about and I have no doubt I was losing gold out the end, But in recent trips and coming across fellow enthusiasts I realized my set up for the area was completely wrong, we never stop learning i guess! Can't wait to see the photos when there ready
