Hey guys,
always been interested in prospecting, I would really like to head out next year sometime, maybe tag along with a person/group just to get my bearing in all the procedures that need to be followed.
I've been doing some pretty intensive research this last week, including checking out Geo-maps. I've defiantly got some questions, that's for sure.
I also collect all sorts of rocks, hence how I found this forum (a link on alf)
My main questions are if there is any slim chance unallocated crownland you can go to like for the public?

Well mate what I do is, I look around and go.. That looks promising either crown or private. If its private i'll find the nearest house and go ask if they say No then I move on but its always worth asking. Crown land I find a place to park the car and head off in to the wilderness. Not sure about other states but victoria is pretty good. If your asking about WA then well its bloody hard to know if your walking on to a lease or not. And should probably do alot of research before you have lead flying past your head ey..
Best of luck mate.. If your in Victoria then give us a p/message i'm more then happy to go for a dig for the day or two.

G'day gotrocks & welcome to the forum. Don't hesitate to ask questions, someone will know the answer. Also if you have a good look around the forum, you'll find heaps of info. Like 360 said, if your in Victoria your pretty safe in any area that's not National Park, with Reedy creek between Beechworth & Eldorado being the exception. You are free to pan or sluice there no worries. Which state are you in?
