I understand I am in a alright spot for it haha I am betting after i make my way through these forums and get the equipment and licenses I will just about be ready to head out. I would greatly Appreciate any advice.

Welcome to the forum zurek. You sure are in an alright spot. About 30 minutes drive will get you to my favourite creek in the state. Reedy Creek at Beechworth. About 2.2 kms past Wooragee school turn right into Reid's Way & follow that to the end & you come to Chiltern Road. You can turn left or right here to get to the creek, but the quickest way is to turn left first. Once on Chiltern Road drive a couple of hundred metres & take the next right at Woolshed cabins. That's McFeeters Road. Drive past the 2 bridges then down the hill. At the bottom of the hill is a track on your right that you sort of do a U turn into. That's the first track you can get into the creek. Then there's about 20 kms more to explore after that.

G'day Zurek and welcome.
There are plenty of very knowledgeable Victorians on the forum.
You are in a great location at Wodonga as you can go north to NSW or a short trip south to the many Victorian Goldfields.
Cheers Ric

Thanks for the replies guys, could anyone recommend some starting gear for me? I bought a cheap pan at a local aussie disposals and will get my miners right or whatever it is before i go out. I was thinking about buying a river sluice but not sure what I should go for I dont really want to spend heaps just yet. ( i have lots of buckets and shovels)
