On VR-VT Commodores (and variants, Berlina etc), the power for the indicator stalk goes through the Hazard light switch. So if your indicators suddenly stop working but your hazard lights DO work, it could be that the contacts in the hazard switch have gotten dirty from lack of use. Try turning the hazard lights on & off a dozen times to see if that cleans the contacts & cures the problem. It did for me.

Sorry Ian, can't help with that one. I only stumbled upon my tip above in the Patrol 4x4 forum by accident when I was looking for a solution to my problem.
