Just wondering to make a trommel to fit over the highbanker or leave it as is are there more benefits with a trommel ?

Leave the Highbanker as it is and if you do want to, then build a trommel from scratch.

Trommels are a great bit of equipment but they are cumbersome. OK if you can drive right to the dig.
A lightweight easy to carry Highbanker or Banjo as some are known and lightweight pump are hard to beat for Gold.

G'day Chris My son and I had been working some ground called "the common" in Windeyer with my high banker there were two other high bank machine working the same area and one trommel, where we had walked the sluices in and set up the trommel was worked from inside a box trailer (the box trailer was reversed near to the creek), the owner the set about filling a lot of buckets tipping them through the trommel, in all the places I have HB this was the only location with accesses for this type of sluicing.
